How To Put Together Charcuterie Boards + Inspiration

A charcuterie board is basically a fancy snack, and they are so fun to assemble. Here is what I put on mine, and some other inspiration!

Whenever my family is having people over for dinner or drinks, we like to put one together. Each time we make it the ingredients are a little bit different but we do have some regular favorites.

Here is what we include:

We don’t always have all of these ingredients but we have used each of them before!

The key to making a charcuterie board is not only the good choice in foods but also how you design it. This means having a clean wooden cutting board, and all of the jams in their own matching simplistic bowls. You don’t want anything to be distracting from the colorful food.

Typically, we add the blocks of cheese first, and then sort the crackers into spiral designs or form them along the shape of the cheese. We do the same thing for the salami. Dried fruit and nuts are perfect for just scattering around the board in empty places.

While any wooden cutting board will work, we really love circular ones because the design is more dynamic. My mom being the queen that she is, designed and built her own cutting board to fit our needs. She noticed how we were always reaching over each other and across the board to get the cheeses and spreads we wanted and it was inconvenient. So, she built a charcuterie board with a hidden Lazy Susan bottom that allows you to spin the board to grab the food you want.

Pretty. Damn. Cool.

Now, the internet has showed me that basically any pretty display of food can be considered a charcuterie board so I want to give you some more out-of-the-box inspiration.
