Greetings From Nashville!

After living out of a duffel bag for three months, it feels great to unpack and settle in to my new home. Except, I accepted a job that requires me to travel for a week at a time so I’ll be back to my suitcase in no time. I had so many incredible experiences the last three months, it will take me some time to slowly share it all.

I’ve been living in Nashville for a month now and it feels surreal. I’ve dreamed of moving here since I was 15 and now here I am! The view of the skyline at night from my apartment almost makes me tear up. My apartment is in the cutest area in Germantown! It is near so many coffee shops, breweries, the Sounds Stadium and Bicentennial Park. It feels happening, but local.

My mom and dad helped move me in along with some hired movers. Boy, were we a well oiled machine. We got every curtain and frame hung, tv mounted, closet organized, and kitchen stocked in a day. It was extremely impressive.

Since living here I’ve been going on walks exploring each neighborhood of Nashville, tried out some trivia bars, played tennis with new friends, danced on Broadway, was formally invited into the apartment pool group, attended USC alumni watch parties and had my best friends come visit!

This season of my life is so exciting but is not without its challenges. My job in Undergraduate Admissions recruiting for University of South Carolina is great, yet a huge learning curve. The contrast between working from home to traveling and speaking at college fairs is hard to adjust to. I assumed I would know so much about the university since I was a student there, but I am constantly learning. The travel aspect of the job has been really fun. Travel has also given me a new appreciation for being in my new home and the friends I’ve made.

I really do love it here & I am hoping to keep you updated as I go!
