Monthly Roundup: September in Nashville

A list of everything I did and my favorite places in Nashville since moving here!

Entertainment

The Nashville Sounds Baseball

I went to a game on a Monday night and it was beautiful. It was toward the end of the season and since it was a weeknight, it was super empty. We were able to get cheap seats, hot dogs, play ping pong and watch the sunset. I’m already excited for the season to start back up again!

Midtown Tacos and Margs Bar Crawl

Some of my friends and I did this bar crawl through midtown and it was a great way to see all of the bars. I really enjoyed it as a newbie in town, it encouraged me to go into bars I normally wouldn’t have. I wouldn’t recommend doing it again though because while there was deals on the drinks and tacos, it didn’t make up for the crawl ticket price.

Richland Park Farmer’s Market

My friend Evelyn and I found this market near her work in Slyvan park. We picked up some local produce, fresh Tennessee honey, and ham and brie sandwiches on French loafs. It tasted incredible.

Coffee Shops

Barista Parlor

I really like working at Barista Parlor on Fridays as a little work from home treat to myself. I love their large garage doors that they open on days with nice weather.

Red Bicycle

Red Bicycle is known for their coffee and crepes, but I was not a big fan. It was extremely crowded, service was very delayed, and the food was not very good. I wouldn’t go back.

Killbrew Coffee

I didn’t get coffee here but my friend got the pumpkin cold brew and loved it. I ordered the bacon jam and pimento cheese biscuit which was mouthwatering.

District Coffee

I met a friend at work and we stopped to get coffee here between high school visits which was super fun. The coffee tasted great, seating and parking weren’t great.

Elegy Coffee

Located in Germantown, Elegy is almost a hidden spot amongst all of the construction these days. There isn’t too much seating inside but there is a great lawn out front.

The Flower Kitchen Franklin

This coffee shop was recommended to met by some people through work. It is both a coffee and flower shop so you can leave with two kinds of pick me up, caffeine and a bouquet of flowers!

Shopping

The Golden Slipper

I loooove this shop in Germantown. Golden Slipper is named after the owner’s grandmother, who always wore golden slippers when she sang on stage. Since then, her granddaughter has opened a candle and home decor shop in her honor. You can take candle making classes here too!

Bits and Pieces Antique Boutique

Just a block from Golden Slipper, this antique store is so cute. They have sustainable products, fun clothes and home decor.

ABEDNEGO

For lovers of a sleek street wear style, ABENDNEGO is the place to go! They have great dresses, sweaters and accessories, I’m just waiting for a good time to buy something.

Molly Green

This shop is super cute with a dash of classic Nashville bachelorette outfits.

Nash Collection

If you are looking for Nashville merch that isn’t cringey, come here! I love my 3D printed “NASH” crop top that I got from here.

Posh

Posh is a fun store with a more edgy style, it reminds me of Garage and Zara.

Restaurants

Little Hats Market

This market is a must on your trip to Nashville. I love their prosciutto sandwiches and freshly made pasta.

Bobbie’s Dairy Dip

This 1951 ice cream parlor is a great place to stop for a chocolate dip cone.

No Baked Cookie Dough

I am obsessed with cookie dough and have yet to find an eggless cookie dough that tastes better than No Baked.

Tacomamacita

The outdoor patio at this restaurant is so fun. My favorite thing I ordered here was the plantains. My friend loved the Jalapeño Marg if you like that kind of thing.

E+ROSE

Overpriced but great vibes, E+ROSE smoothies bowls are delicious.

Boqueria

My friends and I went to this tapas restaurant off of Broadway for her birthday. We ordered a bunch and split between the three of us, but it still felt overpriced and I wasn’t full. I wouldn’t recommend going here before a night out.

Proper Bagel

Talk about a hangover cure! These are the best bagels I’ve ever had. They have several different bagels and sandwich options with 20 different cream cheese flavors to chose from. I need to go back.

The Pharmacy Burger Parlor

I really like the vibes of this burger joint in East Nashville. Although they are known for their burgers, I ended up getting a pesto chicken sandwich that was fantastic.

Sadies

I’m always craving Mediterranean and Sadies is delicious! They have a beautiful, light and airy decor, perfect for all of your food photography.

Bars and Breweries

Jack Browns

I fell in love with this chain when they put a location in Columbia, SC and now I can’t stop myself from going since it is right in my neighborhood. They have Monday night trivia and a large beer list.

FGL house

The Florida Georgia Line bar is super fun. I particularly liked the third flour the best. Lines here aren’t usually super long since it is just off of Broadway.

Ms Kellis Karaoke

Located in Printer’s Alley, this karaoke bar is a bachelorette’s dream but oddly full of locals.

Barstool

Around the corner from Broadway, Barstool is a popular new bar. It is not really a big dancing bar but I enjoyed the people I met there.

Neighbors

My new favorite bar, my friends and I love to go to Wednesday night Trivia at the Slyvan location.

Mothers Ruin

This is the hotspot of Germantown with a fun drink menu and outdoor space. It is almost always crowded and very dark.

Tin Roof

Tin Roof in Midtown gets very busy, very fast. Make sure you arrive by 10 pm if you don’t want a super long line.

Tailgate Brewery

Right next to the Sounds Stadium, this is a great sports bar to hang out at. The USC Alumni meet here to watch football together each Saturday.

Jonathons Grille

This is another sports bar just behind the Sounds Stadium. The drinks are kind of expensive, not my favorite sports bar atmosphere.

6th and Peabody

I don’t even know how to describe this place other than it is so cool. Brewery / Moonshine Distillery combined with a great outdoor lawn for concerts, live streaming sports and just hanging out on a sunny day.

Virgin Hotel Rooftop Bar

This trendy rooftop bar in Virgin Hotel’s Gulch location is so fun! The have a skinny pool with sleek poolside seating, and a typical classy indoor bar as well. I ordered an espresso martini and it is one of the best I’ve had!

It is fun to look back on all that I have explored in my first month here! I can’t believe I get to call this place home.
