Where To Stay When You Come Visit University of South Carolina

I am so happy that you decided to visit University of South Carolina! Whether you are here for the day or the whole weekend, I hope you get the most out of your experience. For overnight visitors, picking a hotel can be overwhelming because of the many great options. Here are a few hotels that I recommend!

Closest to University of South Carolina Campus:

The Graduate

If you are looking for a hotel with a vibrant atmosphere and local touches, The Graduate is for you! The décor is full of southern charm that blends in Gamecock headboards and Darius Rucker art. It is right next to the visitor’s center and you will often find students studying on the front porch.

Courtyard Marriott

Another on campus option is the Courtyard Marriott! Guests love staying here for their proximity to the Colonial Life Arena and Koger Center. They also have a pool for you to lay out on a sunny day!

Closest to The Vista:

Aloft

If you prefer a hotel with a hip design close to the Vista’s dozens of restaurants and bars, check out Aloft Hotels.

Hyatt Place

This hotel is my parent’s favorite to stay at. Hyatt place has a more modern style, is right next to the Vista restaurants, and has great parking.

Closest to Downtown:

Marriott Columbia

If you want to be in the center of the action during the weekly farmers market, Soda City, then Marriott is a great choice! It is right next to boutiques, restaurants, and student off campus housing.

Sheraton

This landmark hotel has stunning décor and a rooftop bar with a gorgeous view of the city of Columbia. It is another great option for Soda City and night life.

Hotel Trundle

Built into three historic buildings downtown, Hotel Trundle is loved for its eclectic, Art Deco style. It is perfectly located just off of Main street so you can easily walk to all of the activities but not get stuck in traffic.

Final Consensus:

I personally think the Hyatt Place is the best place to stay when you come to visit University of South Carolina!
