What To Pack For A Month In Italy

Ciao! I am finally settled into Italy after a week of being here and I want to share with you what I packed for my trip. Of course, the super packer in me took pictures of all of my outfits before I arrived so I will be showing you those for inspiration too.

What I wish I packed:

  • Another pair of sneakers for some variety because I am wearing mine every day.
  • More pants. I didn’t know that my cooking class was going to require pants.
  • A better camera bag. I have been putting my camera in my tote bag or squeezing it into my white crossbody where it doesn’t fit very well. I knew this would be a challenge but it’s a bit annoying.
  • Sleep shorts! It is so freaking hot in our apartment that I will not be needing my sweatpants.
  • Small notebook to take notes in class. I bought one here which was no big deal at all, I just didn’t even think of it.
  • Toothbrush cover. I hate my toothbrush touching the counter top so I’ve just been keeping it in my bag but I should have just bought a cover for the bristles.
  • Along with this, I wish I brought a full sized toothpaste instead of my travel sized.
  • Scissors. Even just small ones would be helpful.
  • Laundry scent enhancer because our washer smells mildewy.
  • Sunscreen. I assumed I could just buy it here but for some reason it is much more expensive.
  • Hair ties. I have already lost so many.

Things I am so glad I packed:

  • My tide stick! I have used this basically everyday.
  • Dramamine has been so key on the ferry rides.
  • Biker shorts. These have been so comfy around the house, running errands, and during athletic activities.
  • A whole bag of pens and highlighters. It is so nice to have options when studying my textbook and journaling.
  • Jeans. I really didn’t think I would be wearing these but they have come in handy several times.
  • My fanny pack has become a staple. I never leave the house without it because it makes me feel safe having all my valuables on my chest.
  • Apple watch. It is so satisfying to track my steps and activity. One day I walked over nine miles.
  • My camera! Using my camera for pictures has not only increased the photo quality but preserved my phone battery that I need for google maps.

Overall, I think I did a pretty great job packing. I had one big checked suitcase, one carry one in case anything got lost, and a travel on backpack. I still have plenty of room to bring back souvenirs as well!
