Hi guys! It is April which means for those of you who have already picked what college you are going to, you are now looking at roommates! I have a list of some things that you need to ask your roommate while you are trying to get to know them and planning.

- Can a friend spend the night?
- How do you feel about boys in the room?
- Can boys spend the night?
- What kind of decor or vibe do you want for the room?
- When do you go to bed?
- When do you wake up?
- Are you an introvert or extravert?
- How do you feel about things on the floor?
- How willing are you to clean the bathroom? (if you have one)
- How do you feel about sharing things- food, clothes, products?
- Do you smoke?
- Do you drink?
- Do you vape?
- How do you feel about any of the above things in the room?
- What is your major?
- What do you like to do on the weekends?
- What are your study habits?
- Do you have any allergies?
- When do you like to shower?
- How do you feel about music playing out loud?
- What is one of your biggest pet peeves?
- What do you look for in a friend?
- How are you planning on getting involved in college?
- What is a deal breaker for you?
- Do you plan on working in college?
- Are you planning on going home any weekends?
- Do you have a car you will be keeping on campus?
- How will we handle disagreements?
- Do you have siblings?
- What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
- Will we buy groceries together and share or separate?
- Do you already know many people on campus?
- Why did you pick this college?
- What kind of music do you like?
- What does your class schedule look like?
- What is your biggest fear about college?
- What are you most excited for in college?
- How do you handle stress?
These are great questions for you to ask you roommate, and I asked my roommate many of these questions and I’m so glad I did. Madelyn and I had a great year together because we were on the same page about almost everything. Now we are looking forward to our sophomore year together but this time in an apartment!
