College House Tour

I’ve been wanting to give a tour of my house for a while now it just took some time for me to get everything organized. We finished our first full week of school, sorority recruitment is over and I am finally getting settled.

University of South Carolina is a big apartment complex school. I can think of eight different ones off of the top of my head. Some people live in houses owned by landlords but I personally never wanted to. Instead, I chose to live in a townhome community that still offered amenities but the space of a house. I love having maintenance, a pool, gym, and community safety cameras.

My senior year will be my second year living in my townhome. I highly recommend finding a place you like and staying there because moving is such a pain. It feels like my home now more than ever.

Let me show you around!

Kitchen and Eating Area

I love how big our kitchen is because there is so much storage. We have an island for seating but I just got this table as well and it is my new favorite spot in the house. If you saw my post on Instagram, you know that I found the four chairs on the side of the road for free last year. This year, I bought this table to match and it is absolutely perfect. The frames hanging above it are vintage alcohol posters and ads that I found at a thrift store.

Living Area

We really lucked out on these couches. One of my sorority sisters was moving and sold me these two couches for $400. They are incredible quality and I find myself falling asleep on them all the time. Our house is very dark with the grey couches, concrete floors, and grey baseboards so we tried to bring in some color with our wall art. The two prints behind the big couch are my favorite because they are paintings including local symbols of the area and our alma mater.

My Bedroom

I’m going for a sage green and gold accents theme for my bedroom. My mom built my wooden headboard, which perfectly matches my nightstands. I brought the dresser from home and bought the desk and chair from Facebook Marketplace. I am in love with my wall decor, the hanging shelves being one of my favorites. Above my dresser, I have a letter that my mom wrote me framed, a Carnival mask I bought in Venice, and an SC cowboy hat that I bought when I lived in Charleston. Next to my bed, I have three canvases that I made into abstract art with Spackle. My bedroom is my ultimate safe space, I love the homey environment I created.

My Bathroom

Each of my roommates has their own bathroom and we even have a half bath downstairs which is so nice.

This townhome is so so spacious with tons of rooms for storage. I am really going to miss it when I move to a smaller apartment in a big city.
